I liked the story but still felt a little unsatisfied with our hero. I enjoy the whole cheating trope because I like reading flawed characters that become redeemable but something about Harrison didn’t sit right with me. He never really takes accountability for his actions. He hides behind the clause “I was drugged!” How is it Maddy can remember all the gory details yet some how Harrison can’t. He was coherent enough to talk about Heather in between his orgasms with Maddy yet he tells Heather he has no recollection of that night. Just for the record, nobody bought that bs. I call it like I see it and what I see is two people who knew they were under the influence of something and proceeded selfishly to make a very bad decision. I actual very more sorry for Maddy. At least she owned her mistake. She basically says they felt too good to stop. She also receives the most harassment from the band’s fans. I kept waiting for Harrison to make some grand gestures to win back Heather but nothing really came. He gets therapy and I guess we should be thankful he’s celibate during the separation. He gets drunk a lot. Real nice. If he plays the whole drugged card, what’s to stop him from playing the too drunk card in the future? I think we really needed Harrison’s POV in this book to clear up his role and the state of mind he was really in. I liked Heather, she remained strong throughout the whole thing. I get forgiving Harrison. I mean in the ten years together he made one mistake. I just didn’t like how he never really owns how he was feeling during his interaction with Maddy. Still a decent read.
